The weather's just hot
enough to up the blues quotient
in your musical diet. This Cali trio, fronted by
singer-guitarist-harp fiend Lanny Ray (who's worked with Chuck
Berry, Albert Collins, T-Bone Walker & Big Joe Turner among other
masters) turns out Loud, Greasy Blues with authority and panache.
Especially noteworthy; Ray's own scorchin' "Jet Black Ruby Red", a slinky
rendition of Howlin' Wolf's "Who's Been Talkin" and the
original up-tempo
"Early in The Evenin' ". If you dig "Ridin' With The King" give The
Reels a spin.
